Kanchanaburi is also the site of the River Kwai, where British POWs built a bridge in World War II to “help” the Japanese. The story was retold in the great movie “The Bridge Over the River Kwai.”

At the end of Glamma’s time in Thailand, the Phitakhon Festival which is as authentically Thai as any festival can be, will take place on June 28-29.
